It turned to January, bringing cold weather, and generally making life miserable. We couldn’t dig into the soil, it way harder than rock. We had many meetings in the big barn, most of them for planning out who would do what jobs in the upcoming season. It was decided that the pigs would decide all the questions of farm policy, but it needed to be decided by a majority vote. Unfortunately, this didn’t work as well as planned because of the disagreement between them. Snowball was good at talking, but Napoleon was better at supporting himself. Snowball had plans to build a windmill, but of course, Napoleon being his nasty self turned it down and the worst part was that he peed all over the plans. Eww!
Despite Napoleon's desperate plan to stop Snowball from building the windmill, he still planned it all out, and then an argument began and the all of us had to decide to vote between Napoleon and Snowball, but Benjamin, being his carefree self didn’t vote and then he said that ‘Either way, life would go badly.’ Yup, Benjamin was still his joyful self. When Napoleon and Snowball were giving their speeches it was hard to choose between them. During Snowball’s speech, Napoleon stood up and told everyone that Snowball’s idea was ridiculous and to not vote for him, I felt really bad for Snowball because napoleon was just being mean and trying to win the votes of the animals. And I heard bleats from all the sheep, who were in favor of the windmill idea. Napoleon was impatient he made a weird whimper sound and soon after, the dogs rushed in and dashed to Snowball, which caused him to run out the door scared. I was stunned, I did not expect this all I could do was watch as Snowball ran as fast as he could away from the dogs, which were close behind him. Snowball tripped and the dogs tried to bite down on his tail but he escaped down a small hole, we weren’t going to see him again. Napoleon had won. I was sent around the farm and had to explain to everyone their new arrangement and I told them that leadership wasnt a privilege but a great responsibility, but I didn’t believe what I was saying I was still in shock of what Napoleon had done to Snowball and I couldn’t sleep well that night, that scene was branded into my mind.
