Snowball and Napoleon couldnt agree on anything! Especially the windmill. They always argued about everything. Snowball insisted on building the windmill. Eventually Napoleon agreed but everyone knew he was against it from the beginning. Naturally everyone split on sides, i followed Napoleon because, well, he was the main leader. Benjamin was, of course, the only animal on the farm who didnt chose either side. Animals would walk around saying their own Snowball and Napoleon slogans.
Everyone would go to Snowball's work shed and admire the plans for the windmill. I went yesterday, they were so detailed! I couldnt even understand it but it was so interesting! Everyday the meetings were held and updates on the windmill were discussed. i felt so excited that we only had to work three days, i was happy the while day, which is pretty rare.
The next day Snowball said the Windmill's plans were ready.
"We should take a vote on whether or not to start building the windmill." I listened intently to Snowball when he started his speech about the windmill, as fast as lightning Napoleon jumped forward and said the windmill was useless and a waste of time. Even though i had followed Napoleon all this time i thought that Snowball's reasons were very good also. With that, Snowball started to press on forward at all the reasons the windmill was very important! Now everyone was convinced that the windmill was the right thing to do and Snowball was correct. Napoleon's eyes were bloodshot with anger, he let out the highest squeal i had ever heard, and everyone knew how high Squealer could go. I backed away with a start when the nine dogs leaped in and chased Snowball. By the time i blinked they were halfway through the field! I was shocked and confused.
" Who were these dogs?" I thought with astonishment. In an instant Snowball was gone down a hole.
The next day Squealer was out assuring everyone that Snowball was the horrible and Napoleon was the one who came up with the idea of the windmill. When Squealer came to me i knew he was wrong, but then i realized that maybe he was correct! Maybe i had been right to follow Napoleon! After all he was the one who would compliment me when i put extra effort into my work. I now understood that i, for once, was correct.
